ASABE Meeting Minutes
Date: January 10, 2007

President Justin Balsdon called meeting to order at 7:03 P.M.

Officer Reports:

Personal Introductions

Vice President Danny Middlestead: No tours lined up

Mike Gross: Talk to Polansky about lining up tours in next couple weekends.
Justin Balsdon: He’ll be busy during that time at work, but we’ll try line up tours

Curt Thoreson: Line up a tour for Monday or Wednesday nights, I have a list from previous minutes for tour ideas.

Dr. Bon: Encouraging officers to come up with meeting activities, and tours to set up as schedule for spring semester.

Treasurer Paul Stellpflug: ASABE: $1111.96
¼ Scale: $2416.82
Alpha Epsilon: $242.86

Deposit from lawnmower/snowblower came in ($586) and some quarterscale deposits, and a payment for the polaris rear axle.

Double check that lawnmower/snowblower money is in for ¼ scale too.

Secretary Curt Thoreson: Nothing

CSO Matt Wold: Nothing

CASAC Dan Coffman: Nothing yet this year

E&A Rep Nic Hodnefield: I need a schedule of what the club will do this semester to post with the rest of the E & A clubs. He needs that so he can be fed again.

Scribes: Ross brought his camera and is taking pictures.

Dr. Bon: Try making changes to make better score on it

-Small bill due for $4.40 for XMAS party
-Campus attractions need applicants, due by 18th
-Service project on MLK day on the 21st, 1-4 if you’re free
-Relay for life, April 18-19
-Table Tennis club, who cares
-Little “I” would like us to set up a booth there
Curt: What kind of booth would we set up there?
Justin: Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes.
Curt: We’ll need a new poster

Turn in dept. scholarships, and national scholarship apps, (Feb 11 and Mar 17)
Also can enter in national scholarship competitions (team or individual)

Dr. Bon: Typically 8-20 people apply for national scholarships, so the odds are pretty good at winning one at that level. Several people present have potential to be strong contenders for these scholarships. Also FM Engineers society needs their app in soon as well.

Dr. Somebody needs help in the Soil/Water dept with some stuff. Need instrumentation background, let Justin know so he can forward email to you.

Membership dues are DUE!!!!

Dan: I can find out about when they’re doing houses and get us lined up for helping out.

Ag Tech Expo:
Ryan Nagel: it’s the 60th Annual, so lets do something special.
Can buy your name on a pen for $75-100 for a middle class pen.
ASABE and ASM have talked about sponsoring
Going thru Crown Trophy for these things, checked out their pen collection
Nic Hodnefield moved to donate $100 to Ag Tech Expo for pen and booklet sponsorship

Dr. Bon: Could visit the University of Manitoba for the trip. Check out their campus.

Dr. Bon: Could use a Sunday night to start travels.
