North Dakota State University Student Engineering Branch of ASABE Takes Second Runner-up Honors in National AEM Awards Competition The North Dakota Student Engineering Branch of ASABE -- the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers -- at North Dakota State University took first second runner-up place honors in the annual Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Student Engineering and Mechanization Awards for branches of fewer than 33 members. The AEM awards are presented to the student branches which compile the most outstanding record of activities and achievements in the previous year. This year's report was prepared by Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering majors, Justin Balsdon, a sophomore from Landon, ND and Peter Gates, a junior from Mohall, ND. Senior, Shannon Reardon, Medina, ND, served as president of the NDSU branch. The group is advised by Tom Bon, senior lecturer, agricultural and biosystems engineering. AEM, the North-America-based international trade association for agricultural and construction equipment manufacturers and industry-service providers, sponsors the competition. AEM initiated the awards in 1935 as part of its commitment to excellence in agricultural engineering education. |
