Agricultural Technology Expo Show Participation:

The 62nd annual Agricultural Technology Expo will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering building.  We invite you to participate and be a part of NDSU history.  The Expo began in 1948 and is sponsored by the Student Engineering Branch of ASABE and the Agricultural Systems Management Club.  This is the largest student activity in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.  Participation includes selecting, researching, and presenting a project at the Expo.  The Expo experience is an important element to becoming a well-rounded student. It gives you an opportunity to become better acquainted with and enjoy your intended field of work and to develop communications, team work, and organizational skills which are in great demand by employers.

Expo winners will be announced and awards made following a banquet which is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Suites at 1635 42nd St SW, Fargo, ND.

Here's What You Do:

  1. Choose the division in which you are interested in participating.

  2. Contact the manager of that division and discuss with him/her possibilities of projects as soon as possible.

  3. Start working on your exhibit NOW. A little time spent every day will make it much easier.

  4. Attend required meetings and keep in touch with your Division Manager to help make this Expo a success.

  5. Participation can earn one ASM or ABEN 496 (pass/fail) credit if you register for it on or before January 21 (ABEN 496 class number: 8190; ASM 496 class number: 8248). Participation and registration for one credit is required of everyone in the ASM and ABEN major. One additional credit can be counted toward your degree requirements as a technical or ABEN elective for ABEN students or as an Ag/Bio elective or free elective for ASM students. It is only mandatory to register once for credit and a maximum of two credits can be used for graduation. However, you can participate without registering for credit, or you can register each time so your participation is identified on your transcript. The choice is yours.

  6. Every student who wishes to participate, either for credit or without, must complete an entry form and return it to the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department (ABEN Room 100) by January 21. The entry form is available in ABEN 100 or at the following link: Agricultural Technology Expo Entry Form.
