ASM Organizations

Becoming an active member in Professional/Honorary organizations has many benefits. These will be realized as you select the first post-graduate position and maintain competence and professional identity throughout your career. You are certainly urged to become active in student organizations. However, it is better to be an active member of a small number of organizations than it is to be an inactive member of many organizations

This professional student organization is recognized by ASAE and the NDSU campus student government. The ASM student club conducts business, raises money to support their activities, etc. Business meetings usually include a tour of some industry, an agriculturally related speaker, bowling, pizza and pop, etc. Membership in the ASM Club gives students an opportunity to get to know other classmates and the faculty in a more social atmosphere. Many lifelong friendships develop through these activities.

Annual activities include:

Students from the ASM Club are also active in the annual Agricultural Engineering Show which is held in February. The ASM Club works with the Student Engineering Branch of the ASABE to hold an annual Department Spring Picnic for the students, faculty, staff, and families. This is an opportunity to have some fun and good food. It is also a time to recognize graduating seniors and wish them well in their new careers.

Membership in the ASM Club affords the opportunity for students to develop their communication, leadership, organizational, and team player skills. Each of these play an important part in the training of a well rounded student.
