North Dakota State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. (80% teaching; 20% research): full-time, tenure-track, 9 month. The department seeks a high quality, energetic and productive faculty member who can bring the department to the next level of excellence in its vision and mission of teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will teach, enhance, and promote undergraduate and graduate education courses; serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate students and advisor to student organizations; assist in course and curriculum development; and participate in service activities at the department, college and university levels. The candidate will teach courses in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering program and/or the Agricultural Systems Management program, such as introductory courses and courses related to precision agriculture, energy, post-harvest technology, systems management, and engineering design. The candidate must be an effective communicator and instructor, have demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, and be committed to team building and continuous improvement. The candidate must be able to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and industry representatives and will be expected to participate in industry relations, student recruitment, and student placement. The individual will conduct nationally and internationally recognized research, direct graduate students, establish a publication record in refereed and peer-reviewed publications, present research results at regional and national meetings, and attract extramural funding. Research will be focused on one of the areas of teaching responsibility. Opportunities exist for optional summer employment through research grants and other funding sources.
