Graduate Research Assistantship
- Water and Soil Resources Engineering


Description

A graduate research assistantship for an M.S. student is available in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU) to do research in the general area of water and soil resources engineering. Our research is focused on several areas including investigation of the relationship between hydrological processes and climate change in the vulnerable ecosystems, assessment of impacts of extreme climate events on agriculture in the Upper Midwest region, hydrological and water quality modeling using GIS and remote sensing techniques, and water and soil resources management.

Qualifications and Application Process

Interested students should have a B.S. degree in civil engineering, agricultural engineering or agricultural and biosystems engineering, soil science or a related field. Experience with watershed modeling or computer programming is preferred.

Screening of applicants will begin on November 2, 2009 with a preferred start date of January, 2010. Benefits include a stipend and full tuition waiver. Applications must be made on-line through the NDSU Graduate School at http://www.ndsu.edu/gradschool.
