Grading

Homework: You will be required to develop and write a resume, letter of application, and other correspondence associated with a job search. Most of this will be iterative - you will do it a number of times with the hope of continual improvement.  Each homework assignment will be graded.
Class Participation: You are expected to be an active participant in the class; ask questions, share your ideas about what works and what doesn't, etc.  If you are sitting on the line between two grades, your level of class participation may be used to determine which grade you receive.
Quizzes: There should be no need for quizzes in this class.  But, if I feel that there is a need, I will give brief quizzes.  Quizzes can not be made up; if you are absent, you get a "0."   If given, these will be letter graded.

Roll will be taken at each class period. Attendance is required - for every "2" absences, your grade will drop one letter grade! If you are more than "five minutes" late, you are absent! Most employers won't tolerate absences or tardiness; neither will I!

One of the measures of your success, the department's success, and my success, is your ability to find employment at graduation. I want you to be successful. I want your department to be successful. I want to be successful. So we are all successful, I will do my best to help you find the type of employment you want. I can not get a job for you, but I can help you get a job and start a career. If you let me, I will help!

"If there is any student in this class who has need for test-taking or note-taking accommodations, please feel free to come and discuss this with me."

Academic Honesty

All work in this course must be completed in a manner consistent with NDSU University Senate Policy, Section 335: Code of Academic Responsibility and Conduct (http://ndsu.nodak.edu/policy/335.htm).
